The Friends of Fisher House St Louis is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2007 with this mission: to ensure that military and veterans’ family members can be with their loved ones who are receiving medical treatment in St. Louis. The organization accomplished this by raising money to build and then support ongoing needs of Fisher Houses in the area.
The organization raises funds for special projects and essential services that cannot be funded by the VA, such as transportation for guests, overflow hotel stays, comfort items, and more. The FoFHSTL also works to promote awareness among Veterans about the support provided by the Fisher House.
The FoFHSTL is also starting long-term plans to raise funds for a second Fisher House located on the John Cochran campus of the VA St. Louis Health Care System.
